Laser Hair Removal destroys the hair follicle using controlled and powerful pulses of light. IPL is similar to a laser treatment. However, a laser focuses just one wavelength of light at your skin, while IPL releases light of many different wavelengths, like a photo flash.
The light from IPL is more scattered and less focused than a laser. IPL penetrates down to the second layer of your skin (dermis) without harming the top layer (epidermis), so it causes less damage to your skin.
Pigment cells and blood vessels in your skin absorb the light energy, which is converted into heat. The heat destroys the unwanted pigment and blood vessels to clear up freckles and other spots. It works best on brown and red spots.

WHAT IS ULTHERAPY AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?

HOW LONG IS EACH TREATMENT?
With Ultherapy, you can go about your day after a single, sixty to a ninety-minute in-office procedure.
IS ULTHERAPY PAINFUL?
Unlike lasers, which penetrate the skin from the outside-in, Ultherapy bypasses the surface of the skin, specifically targeting the deep, structural skin tissues where collagen lives. Using ultrasound technology, Ultherapy works from the inside-out to lift and tighten skin non-invasively. Pain is very subjective, but most patients find the procedure tolerable and well worth the discomfort. It can become uncomfortable due to the depth and length of the treatment. We will help you to minimize any discomfort.
WHAT PREPARATION IS REQUIRED FOR TREATMENT?
No preparation whatsoever is required before your Ultherapy procedure.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AFTER TREATMENT?
It is not uncommon to experience slight swelling for a few days, or tingling/tenderness to the touch for a few weeks following the procedure, but these are mild and temporary. You may notice a short-term “boost,” but the natural process of creating new, more elastic collagen builds over time. Results will unfold over two to three months, and some patients have reported continued improvement for up to six months, including lifting and tightening of the skin on the neck, under the chin, along the jawline, and on the brow as well as the décolleté. While ultrasound does not duplicate the results of surgery, Ultherapy has proven to be an attractive alternative for those who are not yet ready for operation.
