Care for Your Radiesse Treatment
Before Your Appointment
- 2 weeks prior: Avoid dental work
- 2 weeks prior: Avoid COVID vaccine
- 1 week prior: Avoid blood-thinning medication: ibuprofen, aspirin, Aleve, Motrin
- 1 week prior: Avoid herbal supplements: omega-3, vitamin E, St. John's Wort, garlic, ginkgo biloba
- 1 week prior: Inform provider of all medications and skin conditions
- 3 days prior: Avoid waxing, tweezing, bleaching, hair removal creams
- 3 days prior: Stop anti-aging products: AHA, Retin-A, glycolic acid, retinols, retinoids
- 24 hrs prior: Avoid alcohol and caffeine
- Day of: Eat before your appointment, take Tylenol 1 hour before
- Day of: Arrive with a clean face, no makeup
- Note: Reschedule if you have a cold, cold sore, or rash in the area
After Your Appointment
- 2 weeks: Avoid dental work and COVID vaccine
- 48 hours: Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, excessive alcohol
- 48 hours: Sleep on your back, not your face
- 24 hours: No strenuous exercise or activity
- 24 hours: Avoid makeup, cleansing and moisturizer is fine
- 2 days: Do not restart Retinol or Retin-A
- Tip: Apply Arnica cream to redness, bruising, or swelling
- Tip: Cold compresses after 6 hours for comfort
- Tip: Avoid sun exposure until redness clears
- Tip: Tylenol as needed for pain
- Note: Filler effect is only visible after 1-2 weeks
- Note: Ask provider about timing for laser treatments
